Enroll your child in a swim program that meets Florida Statutes.

Florida Statute 514.071 requires any person working as a swimming instructor at a public swimming pool to be certified by the American Red Cross, the Y.M.C.A., or another nationally recognized aquatic training program. Swimming instructors must have current certifications in swim instruction, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Avoid programs that claim to waterproof or drown-proof your child. Even the most proficient swimmer is not drown-proof.
Most children, especially young children, require multiple lessons in a season and are likely to repeat the same level the following year – depending on the water experiences they have outside of swim lessons.
